Landscape

From the brooding, evocative skies and morning mist that wraps itself around the Tuscan Val d’Orcia; with its ancient, silent forests; to the last rays of sunlight blazing across the sea, my landscape photography is based in a desire to rediscover myself in new places. Inspired by Tuscany, my hometown, I’ve found that my work is at its best when I allow myself to become one with my surroundings—growing more attune to the sensations of the living world and, camera in hand, working to capture them.

Point of View

If, by traveling, we attempt to discover ourselves, landscape photography is the way we parse our emotions, expressing them through a personal point of view. My focus in this medium is not just on scenery, views, and open spaces, but also on atmospheric phenomena. Spectacular scenes portrayed as I see them, searching for the interplay of light and shadows, the changing of the seasons, and other unique and temporal contexts. To portray a landscape is to give shape to what I see, but—above all—to translate what I feel.
